Project overview

Leeward Renewable Energy’s (LRE) Wind Park Bear Creek project, situated on 2,500 acres near Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, reached commercial operation in 2006. With a nameplate capacity of 24 MW, the project is comprised of 12 Gamesa G87 2.0 MW wind turbine generators, and interconnects to PJM. The output from the Bear Creek project is sold to Talen Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement.
