Leeward Renewable Energy Announces Launch of Charitable Foundation

LRE Foundation to champion environmental stewardship, health and safety, and education

DALLAS – October 16, 2024– Leeward Renewable Energy (LRE), a leading renewable energy company, announced the launch of The LRE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on three pillars of environmental stewardship, health and safety, and education. The LRE Foundation has raised $450,000 and counting at the first annual LRE Foundation Charity Golf Tournament held last week.

“We are immensely proud to launch The LRE Foundation and are deeply grateful for the support of our employees and partners,” said Jason Allen, LRE’s Chief Executive Officer. “The LRE Foundation embodies our values to make a lasting impact in the communities where our projects and offices reside. The foundation’s pillars reflect the values that are fundamental to who we are and guide everything we do at LRE.”

Allen added, “The LRE Foundation strengthens our impact and sharpens the focus of our longstanding philanthropic efforts to create new opportunities to drive lasting, positive change.”

The LRE Foundation applies an approach to giving, building trusted partnerships with like-minded organizations, and expanding opportunities for employees to engage in charitable programs. The LRE Foundation will provide donations across three pillars of focus:

  1. Education: By investing in the next generation of farmers, engineers, first responders, and the renewable energy workforce, The LRE Foundation can help lead the world in truly sustainable energy generation and ensure these communities stay vibrant in the future.
  2. Environmental Stewardship: Beyond clean energy generation, LRE is committed to being good stewards of the land it uses and ensuring natural environments thrive throughout the lifecycle of its projects. The LRE Foundation will focus on initiatives such as innovative vegetation management, supporting species conservation and research, promoting regenerative agriculture, and replanting trees.
  3. Health & Safety: LRE lives and works in the communities where our projects reside, supporting communities and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The Foundation will allow LRE to disperse disaster relief funds quickly when they are most needed, provide support to hospitals, first responders, and initiatives focused on poverty alleviation and community infrastructure.

Initial recipients of The LRE Foundation’s donations will include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Northwest, and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
